Toto loves her weekly visits to the assisted living and rehabilitation centers. She is a friendly Cairn Terrier who looks forward to the outing and seems to know she brings smiles and fun to the people she visits. She is a member of the Dynamic Dog Therapy Team. Our teams regularly visit a variety of medical and residential places in Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties.
The Dynamic Dog Club provides free training for this program with the help and oversight of Therapy Dogs Inc. located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Once the dog and trainer pass a test and 3 observed visits, they are eligible to join the TDInc. membership and receive liability insurance coverage.
Additionally after you obtain your TDInc. license, teams are eligible to join the Reading Education Assistance Dog program and work with students as they read to your dog. For those who do not wish to attend school weekly, we participate in events at Barnes & Noble and the libraries.
Please attend one of our monthly club meetings to sign up for our free Therapy Team classes. At the request of The Villages Recreation Department, obtaining an Obedience Canine Good Citizens evaluation and test is a prerequisite for attending our classes.
Evaluators are available to procure this test. Please contact us.
