Dynamic Dog Club Therapy Teams
Dynamic Dog Club Therapy Teams regularly visit a variety of area facilities in Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties. Our teams have been welcomed at local hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, hospice, rehab centers, memory care, assisted and independent living facilities, senior centers, schools, and libraries.
The teams participate in various activities, such as charity walks, parades, Camp Villages and special events throughout the year.
The Dynamic Dog Club has based its Therapy Team requirements on those of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. ATD is a national registry which certifies and provides liability insurance coverage for therapy teams. Membership in ATD is open to all dogs.
ATD requires therapy teams pass a handling test and three (3) observed visits with one of their Tester/Observers. The team is then eligible to join ATD, become registered, certified and receive liability insurance coverage.
Once a team (handler & dog) is registered and insured, they are welcome to join other Dynamic Dog Club therapy teams on their visits to area facilities.
